Choral Chameleon: Storytime, Part Two, Concert Two

  • Acme Studios 63 N 3rd St Brooklyn, NY, 11249 United States (map)

ECMC Interim Artistic Director Vince Peterson's professional vocal ensemble Choral Chameleon concludes its seventh concert season with the second installment of their Storytime project. Masters of vocal color, multi-genre musical imagery, and theater arts come together to create the spectacular conclusion to this series, performed at Acme Studiosa one-of-a-kind photo and video studio, unique prop house, and full-service set design shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Choral Chameleon is joined by jazz composer and multi-instrumentalist, Rob Mosher and his amazing band, Storyville to create the world premiere of a new chorus and band work to be revealed by Mosher later this year.  Chameleon starts the program off with vivid depictions of a joust between Christ and Satan, the lean and angular poetry of Edward Lear, Josquin's jumping cricket, and the treasured Beatles story of the old forgotten church keeper, and her only friend, Fr. MacKenzie. Stage director Liz Ostler (from Choral Chameleon's "Tamar of the River Oratorio") returns to Choral Chameleon for visual storytelling through movement and puppetry as Choral Chameleon sings.
